5 Ideas For Spending Easter at Home

5 Ideas For Spending Easter at Home

In the middle of a global pandemic, you may wonder how you can still celebrate Easter while staying at home. For many of us, it is not an ideal way to celebrate the reason for the season, but it is still a celebration that can be fun and meaningful. I hope these ideas inspire you all to create a special Easter with family, friends, or by yourself.

Tune into Sunday Service

Many religious services have transitioned to live streaming during this time. Others have opted for pre-recording or podcasts, which may be appealing to those who like to sleep in. If your home church does not offer either of these, “visit” another church instead. I will be tuning into my place of worship, Eastern Star Church.

Go Ahead. Wear Your Sunday Best

I can attest that playing dress up for the day makes you feel a thousand times better. If your daily wardrobe has been sweatpants and a t-shirt, take this opportunity to wear the dress or pants suit you ordered the second spring collection hit the store. And for those who have been on a budget, this is a great opportunity to revamp last year’s Easter outfit and have a fun photoshoot or runway walk with your family. FUN FUN!

Schedule A Virtual Hangout

There are some of us who are staying at home alone, and this can be extremely difficult for a lot of people. Thanks to apps like Facetime, Duo, Zoom, and Houseparty, it’s easier to still stay and feel connected to loved ones, even hundreds of miles away. Organize a virtual Easter party or activity with friends and the kids, or have a virtual lunch with your girls and catch up.

Dye Easter Eggs

Even at my age, I still enjoy dying Easter eggs. I may even schedule a virtual Easter activity with my niece and nephew so we can dye eggs together! Many grocery stores are still selling Easter egg kits in stores. If you aren’t one to make grocery store runs, or want something a little more creative, look into ordering kits from online retail stores such as Etsy or Amazon.

Relax and Reflect

If this global pandemic has left you exhausted and simply feeling like you need a break—take one. It’s important to listen to your body, especially during this time. Go for a walk, or sit outside and read. I have found that spending time outside can boost ones mood. If the weather doesn’t allow either of those where you are, spend time in your favorite area of your home, write and reflect.

Again, I hope some of these ideas have inspired you to continue the celebration of Easter. And, if you are indulging in some retail therapy and would like to support my small business, check out ZURRI Boutique’s Easter themed t-shirt, ' Bunny Pop'. Perfect for lounging, store runs, or just being in the Easter spirit. Stay safe everyone!

Everything about this makes me sad. We got some great outfits for my daughter and was ready to go to church but you’re right we should still dress up in tune into a Sunday service online or on TV.
